Meet your flower farmer

Hi, I’m Hayden! I’m a 30-something, queer flower farmer who’s passionate about growing sustainably. No plastic-wrapped, grocery store daisies here!

I started Big Oak Flower Farm because I’ve been growing flowers for years in my home garden and every time I gifted someone a bouquet, I’d see their faces light up. They would keep the flowers on their desk until they went brown and crusty and dropped petals all over. They would tell me stories of the tulips their grandma grew. They would remember a funny story from a first date gone wrong.

Gardening became my lifeline in my 20s as I navigated divorce, came out as lesbian, and rebuilt my life on my family’s farm. My garden was my place for peace and healing. Now, I’m beyond excited to start this flower farm and share that same joy with you.
