Everything you need to know about ordering bulk flowers for your wedding or event in the Willamette Valley

Planning an event in wine country and want it to feel like you instead of a grocery store floral section? Bulk flowers from a local farm are your answer. Here's everything you need to know about ordering flowers in bulk for your DIY wedding, girls night, baby shower, or other event!

Peak summer in the flower field - rich dahlias, cosmos & zinnias

Who is this actually for?

You’re someone who sees cute art at the store and instead of buying it says, "I could make that!" (aaaand that’s why I have a craft room full of craft supplies ;) Bulk Flower Buckets are for the people who would rather support a small farm in St. Paul than order something generic that’s been shipped from a warehouse halfway around the world. You prefer a personal wedding rather than basic florals, or you want your dinner party to look like you’ve set the table in a fairy meadow.

If you love unique, affordable flowers in bulk and love to arrange your own bouquets, bulk buckets are for you.

Peonies bloom in May & June!

What exactly is in a bulk bucket?

Each bucket has at least 60 stems, picked fresh before your pickup. You'll get a mix of focal flowers (the big show-stoppers), filler flowers (for texture &, movement), and foliage (the greenery that makes everything feel lush and full).

At $100 per bucket, that's a solid deal for locally grown, seasonal flowers you won't find at any chain store.

You can order here.

Examples flowers available in April - ranunculus steal the show this time of year!

How many arrangements can I make?

Here's a rough guide that you can make with each bucket:

  • 1 large bridal bouquet with some extra stems to spare

  • Up to 3 smaller mason jar arrangements

  • About 15 bud vase-style arrangements

Hosting a make-your-own bouquet event? Plan for 3 small bouquets per bucket. So if you've got 10 guests, order 3 to 4 buckets and you'll have plenty to work with (and some extra for yourself).

Most people order 2 buckets.Email me if you have any questions!

Can I pick the flowers that come in my bulk bucket?

Sort of. As the farmer, I choose what goes in based on what's peak and gorgeous that week. But you can absolutely tell me your color palette and vibe, and I'll do my best to match it. Scroll my Instagram to get a feel for what I grow and what's in season.

One thing worth knowing: everything I grow is seasonal and grown right here in the Willamette Valley which means no tropical flowers, nothing shipped in from overseas. If you're dreaming of orchids and birds of paradise, I'm not your gal :)

Lupline blooms in May and is perfect for a wildflower-inspired bouquet!

What's blooming each month in the Willamette Valley?

Here's a quick seasonal breakdown:

Spring (April, May, June) is soft and romantic. Peonies, ranunculus, sweet peas, lilac branches, tulips. These flowers have a short window so they feel extra special and are perfect for garden parties, Easter tables, or a spring wedding in the valley.

Summer (July, August) is big and bold. Dahlias, sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, marigolds. If you're planning a bachelorette weekend in Newberg wine country or a birthday dinner, this is peak flower season so order early.

Fall (September, October) is the moody season and my favorite! Rich dahlias, amaranth, grasses, vibrant celosias. Perfect for harvest dinners, Friendsgiving, or a fall wedding with all the cozy feels.

How far in advance should I order?

2 weeks minimum for most orders. If you're ordering multiple buckets for a wedding or large event, give me at least a month's notice so I can plan around your pickup date. Peak season books up, so sooner is always better.

And no, there's no minimum order. Need just 1 bucket for a small gathering? Go for it.

Celosia blooms all summer. It’s a unique filler that makes your DIY bouques stand out.

How do I store the flowers once I pick them up?

Pick up your flowers the day before your event and store them somewhere cool: a basement, a garage out of direct sun, or a refrigerator if you have the space. Keep them out of direct sunlight and they'll stay fresh and happy until your big day.

Where do I pick up? Do you deliver?

Pick up from the Big Oak Farm Store at 7778 Champoeg Rd NE, St. Paul, OR, right off Champoeg Road near Champoeg State Park.

Delivery is available to Newberg, McMinnville, and Woodburn. For Salem or Portland, I can deliver with a delivery fee. Just mention it when you email me and we'll work it out.

Can I hire a florist to work with your flowers?

Yes, and I love this option. I don't work directly with wedding planners or vendors on my end, but you're absolutely welcome to hire your own florist and have them work with what I grow. Some people want the local farm flowers but also want a professional doing the arranging. Your florist can coordinate pickup directly, just send them my contact info.

We love growing for you!!

How does ordering work?

Place your deposit here, we'll set a pickup date and time, and I'll send you an invoice. Your flowers will be picked fresh and stored in a cooler so they arrive to you as perky as possible.

If you don't have your own buckets for transport, no worries. We'll arrange bucket return after you've got your flowers settled at home.

Ready to order?

Bulk buckets are $100 each, no minimum order, available spring through fall. Whether you're doing centerpieces for a Willamette Valley wedding, decorating for a backyard party in Newberg, or just want an excuse to have a bunch of flowers in your house, I'd love to grow them for you.

Order your bulk bucket here or shoot me an email to get started.
